Top Ten: On Repeat

Hello boys and girls, this has been sitting in my drafts for weeks. I’d like to think my tumblr has some kind of purpose. I created it for sharing music but with more followers (especially people I know personally), I get more self-conscious. Whatever.

I like talking about music. I also like making lists. Thus, I’ve made a list of songs I’ve listened to on repeat and why. It’s a bit sentimental so read on if you’d like. I even included Youtube links to each song. I actually never use Youtube for music, but maybe you do? Check it out.

By the way, I wrote “top ten” but there is 11. Get over it.

Any song(s) you’ve had on repeat recently?

2012 End Of The Year Lists

This list was really difficult to put together this year. I literally did some math to figure out what order to put them in. Anyways, I’m still pretty terrible at keeping up with new music, so don’t remind me of all the stuff I missed this year. I’m sure I’ll get around to ‘em eventually.

Favorite Albums:

I got a babysitting job last week and instead of being responsible and saving the money, I decided to preorder both of these!

  • Thrice - Anthology

This is a live album from their farewell tour earlier this year. I’m really hoping at least one song is from the show I went to, but either way, it’s gonna be great because Thrice is just an incredibly awesome live band anyway. Also, I just got the 2-CD version because $60 is just too much for vinyl to me.

  • Anberlin - Vital

I was debating whether or not to get the vinyl for this. I ordered it from Amazon because I’m guessing it was sold out on their website, I couldn’t find it. I don’t know if it’s going to be the two 10” vinyl or if it’s different through Amazon. Whatever. Listen to their new song Self-Starter. I was hooked after first listen. Really excited about this album.

End Of The Year Lists

Hi, everyone! Here is my feeble attempt at making lists for my favorite music-things in 2011. This is only my second year doing this so it’s still not going to be that cool. I’m still going through this phase where I want to buy all my music on CD or vinyl, and since I have no real source of income right now, it’s difficult to keep up with all the new music. I’m sad to admit that this list would probably look different had I been able to get all the music I wanted. SO, now that I’ve got that out way!… check it out:

New CDs…

I’m sick of posting pictures of my new CDs so I’m just going to give you a list to catch up. And then I’ll stop buying so many and then be able to post them when I actually buy them. So, if you’re curious about what I’ve found since my last post, take a look.

NEW CDS:
Andrew Belle - The Ladder [2010]
Thrice - The Illusion Of Safety [2002]
Forgive Durden - Wonderland [2006]
AM Taxi - We Don’t Stand A Chance [2010]
MxPx - Slowly Going The Way Of The Buffalo [1998]
Oasis - (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? [1995]
More CDs from the San Francisco trip. These were all from Rasputin Records and in the closeout section… of course. My mom found the Thrice CD for me. One step closer to owning all of them! I downloaded that Andrew Belle album sometime last year when it was free somewhere (NoiseTrade, I think?) and I loved it. It was still sealed and only like $2 - score! The three last ones were all hidden below the shelf/cd case thingy and that’s that story! View Larger
