This list was really difficult to put together this year. I literally did some math to figure out what order to put them in. Anyways, I’m still pretty terrible at keeping up with new music, so don’t remind me of all the stuff I missed this year. I’m sure I’ll get around to ‘em eventually.
Hi, everyone! Here is my feeble attempt at making lists for my favorite music-things in 2011. This is only my second year doing this so it’s still not going to be that cool. I’m still going through this phase where I want to buy all my music on CD or vinyl, and since I have no real source of income right now, it’s difficult to keep up with all the new music. I’m sad to admit that this list would probably look different had I been able to get all the music I wanted. SO, now that I’ve got that out way!… check it out:
Finally made it to Hot Topic to pick this up. I feel like I haven’t been buying enough pop-punk albums lately… I need to fix that. Any of you got this yet? What do you think?
Bought this at the Take Action Tour a few nights ago. I bought a shirt too (I’m wearing it). Anto (I think) from The Swellers was standing next to the merch table and gave me a hug after I bought my stuff. That was cool. The vinyl was $10 and it was the same price as the CD so it was obvious that I had to buy it. I’m so excited about it though… I gotta clean off my record player today and give it a spin.
ALSO: how great is the artwork for this album?! I’m already fascinated with abandoned theme parks AND pop-punk. It was meant for me.
Last night I went to the Take Action Tour with some kids. We got a little lost on the way and when we made it to the show The Swellers were half way through there set and we completely missed Texas In July (not complaining about that one). The Swellers sounded great. I had been really wanting to see them.

Next up was Polar Bear Club and I was the only one who wanted to watch them because apparently I’m the only one who appreciates quality punk rock. Whatever. They were really good and played a good set.

Next was Bayside. They were collectively who we went for. At this point we got in the pit and it was crazy as always. Bayside sounded amazing and some guy proposed to his girlfriend on stage right before Don’t Call Me Peanut.

We watched Silverstein from the sidelines. About this time, I was pretty tired and was trying not to let my vinyl get cracked. However, they sounded really good and I don’t listen to them but I may have to actually listen to the few songs I have on my iTunes now.
On Friday, we had some time to kill and so me and two of my friends decided to go to the Goodwill. After initially just looking at clothes I checked out the record selection, which was limited. Then we started looking at the CDs not really expecting to find anything but I found this! My friend also found a few herself. The best part is that it was $1.99 and in real good condition. Summer is happy.
