Hello boys and girls, this has been sitting in my drafts for weeks. I’d like to think my tumblr has some kind of purpose. I created it for sharing music but with more followers (especially people I know personally), I get more self-conscious. Whatever.
I like talking about music. I also like making lists. Thus, I’ve made a list of songs I’ve listened to on repeat and why. It’s a bit sentimental so read on if you’d like. I even included Youtube links to each song. I actually never use Youtube for music, but maybe you do? Check it out.
By the way, I wrote “top ten” but there is 11. Get over it.
Any song(s) you’ve had on repeat recently?

When I made my end of the year list for 2012, I did not even realize all the good stuff potentially being released this year. OK, so here’s an updated list. 2013 is going to be a great year for music.
- The Dangerous Summer
I don’t think it’s possible that I won’t love their new album.
- Eisley
Shoot. I never even got The Valley but I probably will eventually. Regardless, I’m hoping for something good.
- Hellogoodbye
Would It Kill You? was such a leap forward for this band. I don’t think anyone saw that coming. I’m expecting good things.
- Jimmy Eat World
With 7 albums already under their belt, and most of them being awesome, there’s really no doubt this will be another solid release.
- Mansions
I’m excited to see where this band will go after Dig Up the Dead; I really loved that album.
- The National
First time I listened to this band I hated them then they eventually grew on me and I listened to High Violet on repeat for a while. I can now say I’m a fan and I’m looking forward to some new stuff.
- Paramore
The way I’ve seen it, this band has gotten better with each album so hopefully their new one will continue that streak.
- Relient K
This band has a knack for good, catchy pop-rock songs. I’m sure this will be some more of that.
- Saves the Day
I think this is another band with a solid discography but you either like them or you don’t. I like them.
- Transit
Possibly my favorite pop-punk band right now. Listen & Forgive took me a while to get into but once I did, I was hooked. Can’t imagine the new album not being great.
Honorable mentions: Balance & Composure, A Great Big Pile of Leaves, Justin Timberlake, Kevin Devine, Moving Mountains
There’s also some stuff I’m not even sure is going to be released this year but I’m hoping:
- Arcade Fire
- Brand New (always hoping)
- Into It. Over It.
- Manchester Orchestra
- Seahaven
- Tigers Jaw
View Larger CD’s I got from my trip to Amoeba yesterday with some friends.
- Braid - Frame & Canvas
- Built to Spill - Ancient Melodies of the Future
- Moneen - The World I Want to Leave Behind
- Radiohead - The Bends
- Radiohead - Pablo Honey
- Jimmy Eat World - Stay On My Side Tonight
good news is now I only need Radiohead’s King of Limbs, til I have all their full-lengths!
This list was really difficult to put together this year. I literally did some math to figure out what order to put them in. Anyways, I’m still pretty terrible at keeping up with new music, so don’t remind me of all the stuff I missed this year. I’m sure I’ll get around to ‘em eventually.

There’s so much I’ve felt I should say, but even if your heart would listen, I doubt I could explain.
— If You Don’t, Don’t
I am seriously obsessed with this band’s music lately. I had never heard of them before but had seen a lot of people (from the internet) talking about their new EP, Don’t Lose Your Cool. Downloading it was one of the best choices I ever made! (download it yourself, it’s free!) Every time I listen to it, I want to listen to it again. It’s extremely catchy but in the best way. Vocals are amazing. Um, I’ve seen it compared to Jimmy Eat World’s Bleed American and Weezer’s Blue Album. To me, it sounds a little more like a catchier Hey Mercedes. Either way, you should definitely download this!
I’m sick of posting pictures of my new CDs so I’m just going to give you a list to catch up. And then I’ll stop buying so many and then be able to post them when I actually buy them. So, if you’re curious about what I’ve found since my last post, take a look.

- Jimmy Eat World - Static Prevails [1996]
- The Get Up Kids - Four Minute Mile [1997]
- Elliot Smith - Elliot Smith [1995]
- Radiohead - Amnesiac [2001]
- Radiohead - Hail To The Thief [2003]
- Radiohead - Kid A [2000]
These are all CDs I found at Amoeba Music in San Francisco. My little buddy Aleah found the Jimmy Eat World CD but I snatched it from her because I needed it! I found the Get Up Kids album in the $1 section and all the others were $2 or $3 (can’t remember). Apparently we were in there for so long and my mom was tired of waiting so I didn’t get to finish looking through all that I wanted to and I grabbed those three Radiohead CDs at the last second. I always wanted more of their albums and well, there they were.

While in San Fransisco I got to see Jimmy Eat World again! They played Bleed American front to back. The venue was about 2 blocks from our hotel too so we got to walk there. It was so much fun. They put on a great show as usual and played an alternate version of Your House which I thought sounded amazing. I loved it.

This was my first time seeing them and it’s been a long time coming considering they’re one of my all-time favorite bands. It’s such a release to be at a show screaming along to these songs that have had such an impact on me over the years. They really are just a relatable band. I’m glad I got to be there and with good people too.
