Random Start: Brand New - You Won’t Know
Today I woke up with two songs stuck in my head (I told you it happens) and I just chose the one I wanted to talk about the most. Like many people, I love Brand New. Maybe not as much as some but I consider them one of my favorites. I was just talking about this song with my friend the other day and Brand New in general. It’s nearly impossible for me to listen to them without delving into the lyrics. Lately, I’m really captivated with this song and my new understanding of it, specifically these lyrics:
“We’re never gonna feel as full as we felt
So let’s go outside and we’ll play “William Tell”
Take your time drawing your bead
I’ll stand as still as you need

But you’re the apple of my eye anyway”
I was always confused about what he was talking about. I thought the “apple of my eye” part was just cheesy but it’s not that simple. It’s really great once I figured it out. If you don’t know, look up who William Tell was and what “drawing your bead” means. I thought it was pretty interesting.
