I think that people who only listen to their music on shuffle really miss out on how great an album can be from beginning to end. The way the songs transition from one to another, the way the mood shifts, and just the entire flow of all the songs together. It’s really a different experience and way more enjoyable for me. I don’t know, I’m kind of a nerd when it comes to this stuff.
I’ve been making 15 song mixes every month since February of last year. I think I might start posting the track listing here and the playlist on Spotify. I pretty much try to fit all the types of music I like into every mix, while still hoping the songs will flow together well. Most of the songs are newer but I try to throw a few oldies in there too. Let me know what you think of it.
It doesn't bother you that the Thrice vinyl is 2 discs (4 sides)? If there was no technical reason, I'd prefer not to have to switch the records as much.
I wouldn’t say it bothers me but it does get a little tedious if you just want it playing in the background. I don’t listen to my vinyl all that often. Usually just a few times when I first get them but in this case because I don’t have the mp3s yet, I have been listening to it more. You basically have to set aside time for it.
